Praying For You, Connecticut

Some things are not meant for us to understand. Our faith and character requires the occasional test. We are reminded to love harder, forgive more, soul search deeper and pray often.

In the face of such devastating loss of lives, the pain and suffering can feel like endless agony. And yet, time does pull us through. You are not alone. Our nation holds you in her heart.

Sandy Hook families, we send our condolences and our love. America mourns your losses. We are with you.
We are praying for you.
God Bless.

I grew up very close to Newtown, the other side of the county. Many people I grew up with live there now as it is much cheaper.

Two childhood friends had children in that school. All are fine, physically. Time will tell about emotionally.

The really sad part is that we still are not dealing with the underlying issues. Yeah, we can make guns harder to get, but he broke almost 50 laws. Obviously he didn't care about the law. Until we deal with the reasons why so many young people in our country are turning to this type of violence we are just putting a band aid on something that requires a tourniquet. Sadly we don't solve problems in this country, we play politics.

Count the times you have heard the word "prayer" over this weekend. Even those who generally rant against prayer and religion have no other solace to offer than to call for our prayers. For a while we have all joined hands in suffering, compassion and love.
