Why, I Oughta ......

..... kick your young, good-looking, intelligent ass!

That's how Joe Biden looked at Paul Ryan throughout most of last night's debate, IMO.

During the vice-presidential debate Joe showcased hysterical laughter, fits of fidgeting, grinning, and barely suppressed contempt.

Paul's respectful and informed demeanor was fuel to Joe's firey boorishness. As we expected, it was all pretty entertaining.

In the end Joe lost the debate by turning voters off. Does this mean anything for the coming election? Probably not. But it was fun to watch Joe get rattled.

What did you think?

Updated: From Politico.com, Joe Biden's laugh was a third character at the debate.

As his ludicrous behavior continued on and on and on, I grew more and more infuriated. I was wishing Ryan would fire back a little harder. Today, in a new light - I believe his lack of hostile reaction to Joe's blustering was perfect.

Joe was a JOKE

It was so awkward I was hiding behind my couch pillow as if I were there. All in all it was horrible from beginning to end. I don't really even know what the candidates were talking about, and I think that was the plan. Joe was sent out there to distract and rattle. His antics were all tactics. He was such a distraction while Paul Ryan was speaking there is just no way it wasn't a debate tactic....and it worked. The media is calling it a "stylistic" problem while the rest of America probably changed the channel pretty quick, which is what the WH wanted. It really is so pathetic. :)N

Totally distracted by Biden's expressions, I first tried closing my eyes. Finally I had to leave the room and wait to see the results in the news. Seriously what is wrong with that man?

I agree with mCat - but I wanted Ryan to smack the krap outta Biden! I think if Ryan had just gone silent, and then said 'I'll want until you finish your rant and then I would like to finish my answer uninterrupted'.... he came close... I thought Ryan did great in a 2 vs. 1 contest

It was kinda fun. Not as much fun as the Prez debate, but fun nonetheless.

It had just the effect I thought it would---more independents going to the romney/ryan ticket and more blue states turning red.

My kids were so mad watching --I got mad at parts - but shortly into it-i just laughed-knowing how ludicrous and desperate Biden's behavior!

mcat, me too. i'm glad ryan didn't stoop to joe's level.

nik, you give joe more credit than i. i think he's just a buffoon. but yes, it was hard to watch. until it became funny :)

annie, off his meds, is my guess.

firebird, ryan handled himself well. but for us, it was frustrating to watch.

moogie, i agree!

pedaling, yup! the effect is working for us! i was laughing too, biden is so spastic.

I wish Ryan had not come across so wonkish.

Joe was a joke. I was mad when he was still laughing when Ryan was talking about dead soldiers. No class. He only wanted to make Ryan look the fool. Ryan was very polite, just like his mom raised him, which was admirable but I really wanted to see him get ticked off and fight back a little more. But no worries....elections aren't won over the VP debate.
